Terms of Service
Last updated: June 2025
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern the services provided by CompuCom Solutions ("we," "our," "us") to you ("Customer," "you"). By engaging our services or using our website, you agree to these Terms.
Services & Estimates
We provide computer repair, sales, data recovery, networking, and IT support services. All services are performed at our shop location in New Westminster, BC unless otherwise agreed. Diagnostic fees are waived for most in-store evaluations. Once a diagnosis is complete, we provide a written or verbal estimate. Work begins only after you approve the estimate. We reserve the right to revise an estimate if additional issues are discovered during the repair.
Pricing & Payment
Prices quoted are in Canadian dollars (CAD) and include applicable taxes unless stated otherwise. Payment is due upon completion of services unless prior arrangements are made. We accept cash, debit, Visa, MasterCard, and American Express.
Parts & Components
We use high-quality replacement parts sourced from trusted suppliers. Where available, we offer both OEM and compatible-grade parts. Parts supplied by us are covered by our warranty. Parts requested by the customer and supplied by the customer are not covered by our warranty.
Warranty
Our standard warranty covers parts and labor for 90 days from the date of service, unless otherwise stated in writing. Parts we supply and install carry a minimum 1-year warranty. The warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship. It does not cover accidental damage, liquid damage, misuse, unauthorized modifications, or normal wear and tear. The warranty is void if the device is opened or serviced by a third party after our repair. To make a warranty claim, return the device to our shop with the original service receipt.
Data Handling & Liability
We take reasonable precautions to protect your data during service. However, we recommend that you back up your data before bringing your device in for repair. CompuCom Solutions is not responsible for pre-existing data loss that occurs as a result of hardware failure, firmware issues, or conditions that existed prior to our service. We are not liable for consequential or incidental damages arising from service delays, data loss, or device damage beyond the cost of the service provided. Our maximum liability is limited to the total amount paid for the specific service giving rise to the claim.
Data Recovery
Data recovery success is never guaranteed. We provide our best-effort attempt using professional tools and techniques. For physical recoveries (damaged drives), we provide a risk assessment before proceeding. No-charge policy applies only when we are unable to recover any data from a physically damaged drive. Logical recovery attempts (software-based) are billable regardless of outcome, as time and effort are expended in the attempt. We will never hold your original drive hostage — if we cannot recover it, the drive is returned to you at no charge.
Abandoned Property
Devices left with us for more than 90 days without communication from the customer will be considered abandoned. We reserve the right to recycle or dispose of abandoned devices to recover storage costs. We will attempt to contact you via the information on file before taking this step.
Cancellation & Refunds
You may cancel a service at any time before work begins without charge. If work has already begun (e.g., partial disassembly, diagnostics completed), a diagnostic or restocking fee may apply. Refunds on completed services are handled on a case-by-case basis and are governed by our warranty policy.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, CompuCom Solutions shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or business interruption, arising out of or in connection with our services, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the laws of Canada applicable therein. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of New Westminster, BC.
